What Is My Business Worth?

The honest answer is: what a buyer will pay for it this year. This tool gives you that number as a range, using the multiples buyers in your category are paying right now.

How this valuation is worked out

We take the figure your industry is priced on — revenue, profit, commission or assets under management — apply the current multiple range, then adjust for retention, recurring revenue, trading history and how involved you are in daily operations.

A worked example

Revenue of $750K, profit of $110K, eight years trading and one owner doing most of the selling. Priced at about 3× profit that is $330K, with a working range of roughly $250K–$400K depending on how transferable the customer relationships are.

Multiple ranges reviewed September 2026, based on offers buyers in our network are making today. They are a guide, not a quote — see how the process works.

What moves your number

  • The earnings figure a buyer will accept, not the one on your tax return
  • How much of next year's revenue is already locked in
  • Your role — a business that needs you every day is worth less
  • Timing: buyers pay more when the last twelve months are growing

Common questions

Do I need my accounts to hand?

No. Round figures are fine for a first range. Precision matters later, when offers are on the table.

Will anyone contact me?

Only if you ask for offers. Seeing your range requires nothing from you.

How long does selling usually take?

Small businesses typically take three to nine months from first conversation to completion.
