How this valuation is worked out
Smaller, profitable SaaS businesses are priced at roughly 3.5 to 9 times SDE or EBITDA. Fast-growing companies reinvesting in growth are priced on a multiple of annual recurring revenue instead, set mainly by growth rate, net revenue retention and gross margin.
A worked example
A bootstrapped tool with $900K of ARR and $340K of SDE, maintained by a solo founder. At 3.5–4.5× that is $1.19M–$1.53M. A fast-growing $6M ARR business would instead be priced on an ARR multiple.
Multiple ranges reviewed September 2026, based on offers buyers in our network are making today. They are a guide, not a quote — see how the process works.

Common questions
Should I use ARR or SDE?
Use SDE if profit is the point of the business today. Use ARR if you are deliberately trading profit for growth.
What multiple should I expect?
Profitable smaller SaaS commonly sells for roughly 3.5 to 9 times SDE or EBITDA. ARR-priced companies vary far more widely.
Does being the only developer matter?
Yes. Key-person risk is usually priced in through a lower offer or a longer required transition.
