How this valuation is worked out

Pest control is priced on seller's discretionary earnings, with the recurring share of revenue doing most of the work. Contracted quarterly and monthly accounts with low cancellation rates earn the top of the range; one-off callouts and heavy termite warranty obligations pull it down.

A worked example

A route with $900K of revenue, 78% on recurring quarterly agreements, a 12% annual cancellation rate and $215K of SDE. At 4.5–5× that is roughly $970K–$1.08M, with trucks in reasonable condition included.

Multiple ranges reviewed September 2026, based on offers buyers in our network are making today. They are a guide, not a quote — see how the process works.

Common questions

Why do pest control companies sell for more than other trades?

Because most revenue repeats on a schedule. Contracted recurring revenue is far more predictable than one-off jobs, and buyers pay for that predictability.

How much does cancellation rate matter?

A great deal. Buyers model what the customer base looks like a year after closing, so a high cancellation rate directly lowers the multiple.

Are termite warranties a problem?

Not automatically, but a buyer will want to see the treatment history, claim record and the reserve behind the obligation.
