How this valuation is worked out
Most chiropractic practices are priced on SDE at roughly 1.5 to 3 times when the owner is the primary treating doctor. Associate-driven practices are priced on EBITDA at about 2 to 4 times. Cash and insurance revenue is valued more highly than personal-injury receivables, which buyers discount.
A worked example
A solo practice collecting $520K with $190K of SDE. At 1.5–2.5× that is $285K–$475K. Adding an associate who carries a third of the visits moves the practice onto an EBITDA basis and lifts the range.

Common questions
Why is the multiple lower than other practices?
Patients often follow the doctor rather than the clinic, so buyers price in the risk of losing part of the patient base at transition.
Can I sell if I am the only doctor?
Yes, and most sales are exactly that — usually to a new graduate or a local owner expanding, often with a transition period.
Are earnouts common?
Fairly. Part of the price is often tied to patient retention over the first year.
